The Minden Chamber of Commerce has announced the nominees for Miss Christmas City 2017. Community members are encouraged to vote for the person they think best represents our community and the Christmas spirit. Ballots will be located at First Bank & Trust, Minden Exchange Bank, Joy’s Floral & Gifts, and Anderson Jewelry.
Each nominee is then interviewed by a panel of 3 judges. The community vote counts for 25 percent, the judges’ interview counts for 70 percent, and input from the previous year’s Miss Christmas City counts for 5 percent. The nominee with the highest percentage will be the new Miss Christmas City. The winning candidate will take part in the Christmas Traditions activities and serve as an ambassador for the “Christmas City” for a year.
All the candidates will be part of the Christmas Traditions celebration and parade on November 24. The crowning of Miss Christmas City will take place on the Minden Opera House balcony at 5:00 p.m. following the Christmas Carnival and before the parade begins.
