The Kearney County Board of Supervisors were looking ahead to warmer weather during the December 19 meeting with discussions of the annual County wide Clean up. Weed Superintendent Joe Anderson told the board he had spoken with City Administrator Matt Cederburg who said the City would once again be willing to split the cost of the clean up. The event will be scheduled for sometime in May or June and take place at the Roads Shop as it has in years past. Anderson reported that 65 tons of trash was collected at last year’s cleanup with an additional 22 tons of appliances collected. The tire recycling event that is held every two years is also slated for Spring of 2018. The NDEQ grant application for a reimbursement grant that pays for the tire recycling is due in February. The board authorized Anderson to proceed with plans for both events and to apply for the NDEQ grant.
