C.L. Jones Middle School joined thousands of schools around the world in the Great Kindness Challenge last week. Sponsored by the CLJMS Student Council, students were encouraged to make a difference in their school one small act of kindness at a time.
“I discovered this last year and we did a small version of it, but decided to get all of the information and do the whole challenge this year,” Student Council Advisor Sue Yant said.
The challenge was set to take place January 22-26. Due to inclement weather in the area however, the local kickoff was delayed one day and the challenge ended January 29. During the week long event, posters promoting kindness adorned the halls, kindness quotes were heard during daily announcements, and students received a checklist with 50 acts of kindness to perform.
