Minden Exchange Bank will host a Financially Fit Kids Summer Camp June 25. The morning session is designed for kids ages 7-11 while the afternoon session will focus on topics for ages 12-17.
During the 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. session kids will learn what it means to save money and why it is important as well as how to identify needs versus wants. Each participant will decorate their own piggy bank to take home from the camp to help save money.
The noon to 2:00 p.m. session will focus on answering questions for older kids. From what to do with earnings from a summer job to the difference between cash, check, and debit card and how they work the camp will encourage better financial responsibility. Participants will also learn why it isn’t a good idea to use a debit card all the time and how to protect their personal information.
