Council Approves LED Streetlight Project Bids And Renames 31 Road To Piester Avenue PDF Print E-mail

The September 17 Minden City Council meeting covered a whole month of council business to make up for the cancellation of the September 4 meeting that resulted from a lack of quorum. Topping the agenda topics were the LED streetlight project, a condemnation hearing, street project updates, and the Fiscal Year 2018-19 City Budget.
Four manufacturers from the State of Nebraska’s Department of Transportation approved vendor list submitted bids for the LED streetlight project. By choosing from a state approved vendor, the City will be able to match the highway luminaires to the commercial and residential luminaires when those lights are replaced.
The lowest two bids both came from Dutton-Lainson. The bids represented two different styles of luminaires, one rounded and one squared. The City suggested purchasing the square end style luminaires from Dutton-Lainson in bulk. The lights carry a five year warranty from the date of purchase.
