The Kearney County Health Services Board of Trustees held their monthly meeting September 26. In public comments and communications the board recognized and expressed their gratitude for the receipt of a $2,500 donation to KCHS in memory of Rose Ryan.
Moving on to new business, CEO Luke Poore informed the board an upgrade to their Microsoft system for electronic health records is necessary. Without an upgrade the health record system will be unsecured which is not an option. The topic was broached several months ago and costs for the upgrade are now available.
The total after a courtesy discount for Healthland services will be $20,000. Equipment for the upgrade will be purchased in three phases over the course of several months to keep costs down and accommodate the Healthland’s workload. The last piece of equipment will be purchased in November and the total equipment cost is estimated at $24,827. The upgrade and associated costs were approved by the board.
