The Kearney County Health Services Board of Trustees met February 27. With no old or new business, the meeting went quickly to reports.
KCHS CEO Luke Poore provided a brief report from the Kearney County Medical Fund. The Fund met with representatives from the Nebraska Community Foundation to establish a set of goals to accomplish moving forward. Public awareness, communication with the Trustees, and dedication to the support and goals of KCHS are the three of the goals the Fund will work toward as they consider their actions in the future.
KCHS CFO Kayla Rhynalds reported January was a busy month for the facility with record numbers of specialty clinic and regular clinic visits. The facility has a positive total margin of 1.4 percent for the Fiscal Year to date. Rhynalds estimates KCHS will not need to pay into Medicare at the end of the year. Following her report the board approved the bills.
