The Minden Whippet varsity golf team was in action on April 24 traveling to Holdrege for the 12-team Holdrege Invitational played at the Holdrege Country Club on warm and breezy conditions.
The Whippets placed seventh as a team with a team score of 344. McCook won the invite title with a 317 followed by Holdrege at 319 and Broken Bow with a 325.
The Dawgs were led by senior Derek Kissinger. Kissinger placed sixth overall in the field shooting a 79 for the 18-hole event. Kissinger shot a 43 on the front nine and finished up seven strokes better on the back to come in with a 36.
