Minden Boys End Season With District Title, Whippets Qualify 10 For 2017 State Track Meet PDF Print E-mail

The Minden Whippets track and field team had a great day on Thursday competing in the Class B-5 district meet held in Broken Bow under sunny skies and breezy conditions.
The Minden boys made it a clean sweep of its schedule, after winning the boys B-5 district team title, Minden placed first in every meet in the 2017 season. The Dawgs scored 103 points to outdistance Grand Island Northwest in second with 73 and Holdrege in third with 68.
The Whippets were able to qualify 10 athletes in 13 events to the 2017 Nebraska State Track and Field Championships held at Burke Stadium in Omaha on Friday and Saturday, May 19-20. The Dawgs will begin state competition on Friday afternoon at 3:30 when Classes B and D take center stage at Burke Stadium following the morning session of Classes A and C.
