The June 5 regular meeting of the Minden City Council was cancelled due to lack of a quorum. A special meeting was held June 8 at noon to conduct time sensitive business before the next regular meeting. Council member Roger Jones, City Attorney Tom Lieske, and City Administrator Matt Cederburg were absent from the meeting.
Mayor Ted Griess began the meeting with expressions of appreciation to Abbey Jordan, Chris Klahn, and Cederburg for their help in repainting the sign at Pioneer Village. He also recognized Pat Haight and Nick Benson of the Minden Tree Board for their impromptu planting of trees between Minden Exchange Bank and Jensen Memorial Library.
Moving on, the council examined the consent agenda which included a proposal for armor coating of Hawthorne from Colorado Avenue to Minden Avenue and a nuisance report from Minden Police Department. Klahn explained that the armor coating project was meant to be included with the other armor coating plans but was overlooked when putting the list together. The nuisance report included in the packet is the list that notices have been sent to. An intern at Minden Police Department will continue working on identifying nuisances throughout the summer.
