The Culpepper and Merriweather Circus is coming to Minden July 25 at the Kearney County Fairgrounds. Sponsored by Minden Parks and Recreation, shows will begin at 5:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
Preceding the main circus, Skeeter the Clown will visit Minden on July 24. She will stop at Jensen Memorial Library and Bethany Home to get people ready for the circus. Children and adults can stop in at the library that day at 9:00 a.m. to hear a circus story, make a clown craft, and meet Skeeter the Clown. Skeeter will do some magic, teach the audience some sign language, and create excitement for the upcoming spectacle.
As the circus sets up in town on the morning of July 25, the public is invited to watch the tent raising and take a tour of the grounds around 9:30 a.m. It’s a great opportunity to meet the animals, learn about their routine and care, and get information about the daily operations of the show. Groups large and small are welcome to attend the tent raising. To accommodate large groups or any special needs during the tent raising, contact circus organizers prior to the event.
