Kearney County Relay for Life 2017 will hold their annual fundraising event August 5 from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. at the Outdoor Classroom in Minden. Funds raised during the event will be used in the battle against cancer through research and support. Residents and visitors are encouraged to attend the annual fundraising event.
A free will Pancake Feed sponsored by the Black Hills Energy will kickoff the day at 9:00 a.m. The opening ceremony will follow at 10:00 a.m. Walking will begin with the Survivors Lap at 10:30 a.m. followed by the Caregivers Lap and finally the first team lap. From that point until the closing ceremony, at least one person from each team will be walking the paths at the Outdoor Classroom.
Off the track there are games, activities, contests, auctions, food, and socialization to take part in. The dunk tank will once again offer a chance to dunk local celebrities throughout the day. Games, music, and prizes have been planned for the event. Everyone is welcome to participate in the fun.
