The new Minden High School building was completed in time to begin the school year in the new facility. With more than a month spent in the new building, students and faculty are becoming acclimated to their new surroundings and familiar with the new features.
“The kids and staff are telling us it’s starting to feel more like home,” Superintendent Melissa Wheelock said. “They’re getting comfortable but there’s still that excitement of having a new building.”
Move in began on August 7 with staff and volunteers working together to transfer furnishings from the old building to the new. Boxes had already been packed, labelled, and stacked on pallets in the old gym and first floor hallways at the end of last school year. The forethought made the moving process much quicker and more organized.
