The Minden Public Schools Board of Education held a special meeting October 4 to discuss a water remediation plan for the new high school construction. The meeting was well attended with representatives from Minden Public Schools, the City of Minden, DLR, Olsson & Associates, and Boyd Jones.
Following the business of roll call and excusing the absence of board member Justin Glanzer, Minden Mayor Ted Griess asked to say a few words. He began by thanking Superintendent Dr. Melissa Wheelock and the school board for extending an invitation to representatives of the City of Minden.
Continuing, he expressed his belief that the City fulfilled all their responsibilities regarding the high school construction project and the relocation of city utilities including electricity, water, sewer, and storm water drainage. He said he hopes the meeting concentrates only on ways to work together to remediate or at least minimize future problems.
