Wilcox-Hildreth came up short in the final contest of the regular season and consequently in a bid for one of the eight six-man football playoff spots. Visiting Deshler downed the Falcons 60-34 on October 19 at Hildreth ending W-H’s season at 5-3. The Falcons losses were to Riverside (8-0), Harvard (8-0) and Deshler (7-1).
In the opening period, the Dragons sandwiched a pair of TD passes of 27 and four yards and two conversion kicks around a three-yard scoring run by AJ Jenkins.  At the end of one quarter Deshler led 16-6.
The Dragon scored first in the second period on a three-yard run and another conversion kick, but the Falcons stormed back on two scoring tosses from Bryce Tobiassen—one to Jenkins for 27 yards, the other to Clayton Nichols for 13 yards. Sidney Gruwell’s successful conversion kicks after each cut Deshler’s lead to 24-22. But the Dragons added a 33-yard passing TD and yet another conversion kick before half to go into the break ahead 32-22.
