The Minden Public Schools Board of Education held a special meeting December 21 to consider the resignation of Superintendent Dr. Melissa Wheelock.
Wheelock has accepted the Education Service Unit No. 10 Administrator position in Kearney with a start date of July 1, 2018. For that reason, she submitted a request to be released from her superintendent contract effective June 30, 2018.
In her letter of resignation, Wheelock thanked the Minden School Board, the central office staff, the administrative team, MPS staff members, and the Minden community for the opportunity to serve Minden Public Schools. She told the board it had been an honor to serve and she was proud of all the work she had seen accomplished in her 10 years as superintendent to establish an exceptional learning community.
