Kearney County Health Services will be providing BLAST! (Babysitter Lessons and Safety Training) March 10 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Registration is $25 and class size is limited.
The program is designed to help prepare people ages 11 and older for babysitting jobs. It is an interactive program that provides training in pediatric first aid, household safety, fundamentals of childcare, and CPR.
“Participants will be given instruction in diapering, bottle feeding, burping, spoon feeding, calling for help, choking relief, and bleeding among other items. The class will also prepare them to interview for a babysitting job and select suitable activities and fun games for children,” KCHS Human Resources Director Rebecca Cooke said.
