Newly appointed Kearney County Health Services Board of Trustees member Sam Stadler attended his first meeting February 28. Several new business items were on the agenda.
CEO Luke Poore told the board he and CFO Kayla Rhynalds have been looking at audit service options for KCHS to gauge whether renewal with the current firm or a competing quote would be best. They have secured five year proposals from both DAE and Seim Johnson. Poore reported an annual cost difference of approximately $8,000 between the two proposals with DAE offering the lower quote.
KCHS currently uses Seim Johnson for auditing services and is pleased with their work. Poore noted that the cost difference was an attractive offer, but he believes it isn’t a good time to switch with all of the transitions the facility has gone through in the last year with operation changes. The trustees agreed and determined the matter should be tabled and reevaluated this Fall for a 5 year commitment.
