The Minden MOPS group was founded ten years ago as a way to connect mothers of young children in the community. With a motto that ‘no mom stands alone’, Judith Geiselman, Amber Taylor, Angie Althouse, and Gail Alderman established the group and began a tradition that continues to grow.
“Amber was set on getting this group going because of the positive experience she had with them in Dallas and Kearney when she moved to Nebraska. She thought Minden moms could benefit from that as well,” Co-coordinator Misty Kuhlmann said.
MOPS stands for Mothers of Preschoolers. Any woman from pregnancy until her youngest child reaches kindergarten is welcome to join. The group meets the first and third Friday of each month, September through April, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Minden Evangelical Free Church. Meetings consist of devotion, fellowship, educational speakers, crafts, and videos.
