As a new year begins, The Minden Courier invites our readers to reflect on the changes, growth, and accomplishments that took place in Kearney County in 2018. This is the second of a three part series looking back at some of the noteworthy events that affected our communities last year.
May
Jensen Memorial Library reintroduced technology training to its list of services. Patrons can attend group workshops or request individual sessions for more direct assistance. The workshops cover a range of topics including technology security and parent participation. The goal of the workshops and tutoring is to keep patrons informed and prepared as the world of technology continues to evolve.
The First Christian Church Preschool Academy raised $1,324 for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in their second annual Trike-a-thon. The preschoolers spent the weeks leading up to the event learning about bike safety. During the event, 21 preschoolers participated in the safety course.
