The Minden Public Schools Board of Education held a special meeting January 28 to discuss and take action on some important matters. Refinancing of bonds, re-designation of funds for bus purchase, and litigation for damages caused in August 2017 were on the agenda.
The board passed a motion to excuse the absence of Justin Glanzer before getting down to business.  Business Manager Jeremy Knadjl told to the board that he had spoken with DA Davison about refinancing the district’s long term bonds at a lower interest rate. He explained the overall savings to the district and how the bonds would be paid off earlier.
Next was a technicality of re-designating funds from the Depreciation fund to the General Fund to be used for the purchase of coach and route buses. The motion was approved by the board.
