New Busy Bags have been fully integrated into Storytime at Jensen Memorial Library. The purchase of the bags and their content was made possible by a Youth Excellence Grant from the Nebraska Library Commission.
“It’s a grant that allows up to $1,000 for youth services,” JML Youth Service Specialist Mary Jo Froid explained. “We received a $900 grant with about half to go toward the Busy Bag program and half toward more Legos for the Lego program, but the Busy Bags are the main reason we pursued the grant.”
Targeting preschool aged kids, Busy Bags are filled with activities meant to stimulate learning and fine motor skills in young children. JML has acquired a variety of activities to create 40 Busy Bags.
