The April 15 regular meeting of the Minden City Council was short and to the point. Mayor Ted Griess saluted Chris Klahn and his crew for another year of safely taking down the Christmas lights around the square before moving to action items.
The consent agenda was approved. Consent agenda items included minutes from the April 1 meeting, bills and claims, mayoral appointment of Nick Benson to the Tree Board for a term of 4/15/2019 to 12/31/2021, and Special Designated Liquor Permit for Saturday, May 18, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. for Carolyn and Dave Bunger dba Windmill Studios at the Kearney County Fairgrounds for a dance.
The council reviewed the condemnation order for property at 311 S. Nebraska. Ron Hansen attended the meeting to inform the council he had a signed contract with the owner for the demolition of the property. He stated the structure should be down this Fall, but it will definitely be down be the end of the year.
