Members of Minden Boy Scout Troop #199 recently attended Scouting’s Sea Base High Adventure in Florida where they spent five days on a 42-foot long sailboat. The experience is one the troop has been anticipating for several years.
“We had this trip planned three years ago and then COVID happened. Then the next year when we were supposed to go there was a hurricane,” Troop leader Marse McCann-Carpenter explained.
The troop is very active attending local and state camps, events, and activities, but they wanted to take a bigger trip which led them to look at the four Boy Scouts of America national high adventure bases. Each base offers a unique, high adrenaline experience, but the Minden troop was mostly interested in the sea base.
