18 Area Athletes Headed To State

The field has been set by the 2012 Nebraska Schools Activities Association for the State Track and Field Championship at Burke Stadium in Omaha on Friday and Saturday, May 18 and 19.
The Minden Whippets, Axtell Wildcats and Wilcox-Hildreth Falcons have qualified 18 athletes to compete in this year’s state meet. Minden will be competing in Class B while Axtell and Wilcox-Hildreth are in Class D.
The meet gets underway on Friday morning with all three schools competing in the first session.
The first event will be Falcon junior Michael Nelson and senior Ben Harms in the D boys high jump which begins at 9 a.m.
