2013 State Wrestling

The Minden Whippets, Axtell Wildcats and Wilcox-Hildreth Falcons sent a combined seven wrestlers to the 2013 Nebraska State Wrestling Championship held Feb. 14-16 the CenturyLink Center in Omaha.

Minden had three qualifiers starting with two-time qualifier in sophomore Austin Olson at 106 pounds in Class C. Joining Olson were first-time state qualifiers in senior Sam Fiest at 182 pounds and junior Quin Rutt at 170 pounds.

The Falcons had a two-time state qualifier in senior Vade Jensen at 182 pounds in Class D. Joining Jensen was junior Tommy Campbell at 160 pounds. The Wildcats had two first-time state entries in juniors Jon Dobish at 132 pounds in Class D and Axel Cassel at 182 pounds in D as well.

On Friday morning, the Falcon and Wildcat wrestlers hit the mats as Classes A and D began the state tournament.
