The Minden Public Schools Board of Education opened a public hearing to receive support, opposition, criticism, and suggestions for the reaffirmation of Policy 5416, Policy 6400, and Policy 5415 during the June 13 regular meeting.
Superintendent Jim Widdifield provided a brief summary of the policies which included Student Fees, Parental Involvement, and Anti-Bullying. Widdifield stated reaffirmation of the policies is done annually by the board. An updated copy of the policies is available online. With no further comments forthcoming, the hearing was closed.
The board moved onto regular business with approval of the consent agenda including minutes from the May 9 meeting, financial reports, and expenditures and claims for payment. Reports from principals revealed all three buildings have seen quite a bit of activity despite it being summer break. The high school has been a hive of activity with camps and weightlifting. Kids have been in the C.L. Jones Middle School and East Elementary buildings every day for summer learning activities.
