A Year To Volunteer At Pioneer Village

Since Harold Warp Pioneer Village in Minden announced a relaunch and new direction for the Village in July 2021, volunteers have steadily answered the call to aid in the restoration. While many volunteers have some tie to the Village or the community, A Year To Volunteer brought volunteers from across the country to help repair the local treasure May 9-20.

A Year To Volunteer is an RV centric volunteer organization that rallies volunteers from all over the country to improve community benefiting programs. Phil and Shar Roos started the program in February 2020 when they decided to travel with a purpose in their retirement.

“My husband was U.S. Navy for 36 years and I was in finance and insurance for 15 plus years,” Shar said. “Our very first project was at Florida Cavern State Park in Marianna, Florida.”
