AgVenture Juniors Split Two Games
The AgVenture Junior Legion baseball team hosted Overton on June 26 in a doubleheader at Bjorklund Field. The Juniors split their games with Overton, losing the first, 8-2 but rebounding to win the second, 7-3.
In the opening game, Brendon Sinsel was the starting pitcher and Overton got to Sinsel in the first inning plating one run. Sinsel held them in check for the next two innings until the top of the fourth when Overton added two more runs. Sinsel was relieved by Jonas Lovin who pitched the final two innings.
Sinsel pitched 4 2/3 innings allowing only six hits, walking four and striking out four.
With Overton holding the 3-2 lead, Overton continued to score in the fourth and fifth innings totaling seven runs.
Overton’s lead over AgVenture swelled to 8-0 before the Juniors got on the scoreboard in the bottom of the fifth. Isaac Carlson and Lovin both reached on walks and later scored to make the score 8-2. AgVenture couldn’t find a rally in the sixth and lost the opener 8-2 to Overton.
