American Ride to host Starting Clinic and Barrel Race June 26

Ethan DeLaet and Raesha Cline of American Ride will host a Colt Starting Clinic and Barrel Race June 26 at the Kearney County Fairgrounds. The clinic begins at 1:00 p.m. and the race begins at 4:00 p.m. Concessions will be available.

“I’ll demonstrate how we put the first ride on the colts we start. I’m using a four-year-old that’s already had 30 days to demonstrate where the horse is at after 30 days,” DeLaet said. “Basically it can go left, right, walk, trot, lope, stop, just the basics.”

The clinic and race are free to watch. The barrel race is open and buckles will be given to the four D winners. Participants will have opportunities to win buckles, prizes, and money. To pre-register for the barrel race, call or text 308-830-2537 or 308-470-0500. There is a $40 entry fee for the barrel race.
