Area Youth Learn To Make Stain Glass Masterpieces At Kidz Kollege Workshop

Children from Kearney  and Franklin Counties showed up at the Minden Fair Grounds on Tuesday to learn the art of stained glass.
The workshop was put on by the Kidz Kollege, a  program funded by the University of Nebraska at Kearney with 4H Youth Development Organization The goal is to teach kids valuable skills with hands on experience and instruction.
“We do a week long series of workshops where young people can learn skills and complete exhibits for the fair.” said Rhonda Herrick, the organizer of the event. “We usually get 20 to 25 kids for each workshop, anywhere from five to 18 years old.”
Herrick said the stained glass workshop came up when she heard about Dr. Paul Grow, who works with stained glass as a hobby.
