Axtell Boys Win Class D Title At UNK Invitational

Axtell’s boys emphatically indicated that they will be one of the favorites to win a state cross country championship as they easily topped the field at the UNK Invitational on September 30 at the Kearney Country Club. The conditions were not really conducive to distance running (very hot —90-plus degrees, very windy) but the Cats (37) overcame the weather and the competition. St. Paul (85) and Wilbur-Clatonia (95) were second and third, respectively, out of 33 teams. 266 runners competed.
