After a three-game win streak, Axtell’s boys dropped a close one to FKC foe Ansley-Litchfield 50-55 in Axtell on December 15. The Cats’ record is an even 3-3.
Axtell was down nearly double digits in the first quarter but Cooper Miller’s three just before the horn brought the Cats to within six. Then Miller repeated his long range, last second marksmanship again just before halftime, ending a strong second quarter for Axtell that gave the team a 28-25 lead. Miller scored 12 first half points.
The Cats got off to a good start in the third period as Jake Halvorsen made the first of two free throws and Ethan Morgan got a putback following the second attempt putting Axtell up 31-25.
