Axtell Defeats Amherst

In a close contest, the Axtell boys added one to the win column Friday night on the road in Amherst.
The Cats defeated Amherst 51-39 in a back and forth scoring contest where a strong 15-4 fourth quarter surge was the deciding factor in the victory.
Axtell’s record now stands at 3-3.
The two teams traded point for point in the first quarter, with Amherst coming out on top by 1 point, 13-12. In the second quarter, Axtell gained the momentum  outscoring the Broncos 15-8 to end the first half up by 6,  Cats 27-Amherst 21.
