Axtell scored the first 11 points of the game, then saw a lead as big as 16 in the fourth quarter dwindle to three before holding on to win 48-42 over Wilcox-Hildreth at Axtell on January 24. The Lady Cats and Lady Falcons both exited the contest with 5-10 records.
The Cats led 8-0 after the first quarter with Jayden Robinson scoring four in the period.
Axtell got a three from Trinity Houchin a minute into the second quarter for an 11-0 lead before Brooke Quadhamer got Wil-Hil on the board with a bucket at 6:47. The Cats outscored the Falcons 19-13 in the period to lead 27-13 at halftime. Sarah Jensen scored seven and Quadhamer four for Wil-Hil while Houchin had six (on another three ball) and Kailey Trampe and Jesse Bertrand each scored four for Axtell.
