Minden became the home of another rising star when Bailey Rogers and her family relocated last year. The young vocalist has dazzled crowds at church, sporting events, and most recently, the State Fair where she won first place in the Galaxy of Stars Talent Search Comets 12 and under age division.
Bailey has loved music her entire life. She began singing for fun around the age of five and entered her first competition just two years ago. The event was a church talent show in Pennsylvania where she lived. One of her best friends sang a duet with her in the competition.
She also received a unique opportunity while living on the east coast. Bailey sang with Kenny Rogers and Linda Davis, mother of Lady Antebellum’s Hillary Scott, during a Christmas concert at Penn’s Peak near Jim Thorpe, Pa.
She began a solo career when her family moved to Minden. Her father, Jeremy Rogers, is a Minden graduate. Through his familiarity with many people in the area, Bailey was soon asked to sing the National Anthem at several Minden High School sporting events and perform for Bethany Home residents and multiple churches. As word of her talent spread, Bailey began singing for events farther from home.
