The Minden First Bank Seniors picked up their fifth win of the 2021 season on May 28 when they hosted the St. Paul Seniors at Ollie Bjorklund Field.
Minden got the win behind starter Braden Bates on the mound going four and one-third inning allowing six runs on two hits while striking out nine on a cold, cold evening for baseball. Nolan Reed pitched the one and two-third innings allowing no runs with two strikeouts and a walk.
St. Paul scored the first run of the game only to be passed by Minden scoring three runs in the bottom of one. First Bank started off with a Lucas Epperson walk followed by a Cal Johnson single and Ben Edgecombe scored Epperson on a ground out for the RBI. Brennan Runge delivered an RBI single to plate Johnson and Carter Harsin doubled to score Runge to make it 3-1.
