Beyond The Yellow Brick Road

Although Brette Covington has served as administrative assistant at the Minden Opera House since last November, many area people know her because of her role as Dorothy in the recent Minden Community Players production of The Wizard of Oz.  Brette has resigned from her job at the opera house and is about to embark on a new career path.
“My new job will be quite different.” she stated.  “I will be an admissions counselor for University of Nebraska-Kearney.  Basically, I will travel around the state visiting high schools to tell them about the university.  In addition, I will serve as an advisor to students who are searching for the right college.  I’m excited about this new career move.”
Brette has mixed feelings about leaving her job at the opera house.  “My duties at the Minden Opera House included a little bit of everything.  It was more than just being a secretary.  I also did a little programming, kept the website updated and helped with the gallery.
