Blum, Kissinger Lead Minden Over Ogallala, 71-52

the rest of the Southwest Conference schools on Saturday that Minden would be the team to beat in the SWC this season.
Minden hosted the Ogallala Indians in the first game of the 2010-11 season in C.L. Jones Gymnasium.
Minden broke open a close game in the first half with a big second half that propelled the Whippets to a comfortable 71-52 victory.
Minden improves its record to 2-0 on the season behind the play of juniors Carson Blum and Derek Kissinger. Blum scored a team-leading 17 points while Kissinger came through with 15 to pace the squad.
Kissinger got Minden off to a first quarter lead with seven quick points while Blum added four. Minden led Ogallala by one point, 15-14, entering the second period.
In the second period, Minden and Ogallala played to a tie as each team scored 18 points. The Whippets were led by Petersen with six while Craig Driver scored five and Kissinger four.
