The Minden Public Schools Board of Education met early in the day for their July 10 meeting in order to have a quorum. The hot topic on the agenda was the consideration of a land purchase in the Industrial section of Minden West Estates to be used for the new bus barn location.
Proposals from the Minden CRA were presented to the board with multiple options to be considered. The original offer was for a two acre lot just west of Grayson Tool. A three acre lot west of the original offer is also available. Other options included purchasing the two acre lot and adding one acre from the adjacent lot to make the area larger and keep the land closer to the school.
In all of the offers, the land would be purchased at a cost of $20,000 per acre. If the board chose to add land from the adjacent lot, an additional fee would be charged to cover the re-platting cost.
