Board Approves MEA Agreement

The Minden Public Schools Board of Education met December 13 with only two action items on the agenda. First was consideration of the purchase of a walk-in cooler/freezer.

The cold storage unit at C.L. Jones Middle School is 30 years old and repair costs are becoming more expensive. In addition, the door doesn’t close all the way melting frost from the ceiling that drips down creating a slipping hazard. A quote was received from Buller Fixture Co. for a new unit. The new cooler/freezer will extend several feet outside the building providing more storage space than the current unit. Once the new unit is installed, the old unit will be removed creating more dry storage space for food storage.
