The Kearney County Board of Supervisors met January 5 for their first regular meeting of 2016 with all members present. After a quick review of the December 2015 County Clerk fee report and Clerk of the District Court fee report, both documents were approved by the board. Minutes from the December 15 meeting and bills and claims were approved without discussion.
Direct deposit payment is still being stalled for county employees as one elected official still hasn’t turned in their paperwork. County Attorney Melodie Bellamy looked into options available to the board in reference to the delay. Only two choices were viable and will be presented to the individual. The matter must be resolved before January 15 or direct pay will be pushed back another month. With nothing more on the agenda, the meeting was adjourned.
The Kearney County Board of Supervisors reorganizational meeting was opened by County Clerk Myra Johnson. Dick Schwenka was voted in as chairman of the board for another year. Larry Landstrom was chosen again as vice chairman. A motion to adopt Roberts rules of order was unanimously approved.
