Board To Increase Lunches

The Minden Public Schools Board of Education met on May 10 in the C.L. Jones Media Center for its May meeting.
The board approved a five cent raise in the meals for all levels of the MPS breakfast and lunch programs due to a recommendation by the United States Department of Agriculture.
Breakfast will now cost $1.40 while all kindergarten through third grade meals will increase to $1.95 and the fourth through seniors will go to $2.15 per meal.
The board has tabled consideration of a revision to Policy 5501 – Bus Transportation.
Transportation and Grounds Supervisor Dave Schoone and Superintendent Dr. Melissa Wheelock have been discussing changing the MPS bus transportation.
Up for discussion at the meeting was trying to reduce the number of bus routes which MPS currently runs.
