Bringing Our Library Into The 21st Century

Exciting plans are coming together for Minden’s Jensen Memorial Library. The library bears the name of its benefactor, Arthur Jensen. Several years ago, the library received funds from the Jensen family to use for library renovation. The library board of directors has been working for some time to determine the best use of this money. The Minden High School and C.L. Jones Middle School Student Councils were both approached to provide feedback on what the children of our community would like to see in the library.
In addition, a committee of patrons was formed to gather further feedback from the general community. All of this information has been compiled and is being used to help determine the best way to provide a cutting-edge library.  Library board president Sue Yant has been in contact with the Jensen family to share the ideas that have been presented and to get feedback from them. The family is enthusiastic about bringing our library into the 21st century and providing a meeting place for patrons of all ages. The last major renovation of the library occurred in 1989.
