Bulldogs Top Cats

Axtell’s girls were defeated 24-71 by top-seeded, top-ranked Pleasanton at Pleasanton on February 1 in the FKC Tourney quarterfinals. The Lady Cats slipped to 9-10 with two regular season games remaining ahead of subdistrict action. They play at Loomis on February 9 and at Southwest (Bartley) on February 12. 

The Lady Bulldogs performed as one would expect a highly rated team to do, although Axtell hung around for awhile.  Pleasanton led 13-6 after the first period and used a second quarter upper hand of 15-7 to go in at halftime ahead 28-13. 

The second half was dominated by the Bulldogs as they had advantages of 23-2 in the third quarter (51-15 lead) and 20-9 in the fourth.
