Burke Retiring From ESU #11

After 26 years as the Director for Gifted Education for Educational Service Unit (ESU) 11, Tim Burke will be retiring at the end of the month. Any Kearney County resident with a child or grandchild who has participated in Future Problem Solving, Invention Convention, Academic Quiz Bowls, Academic Summer Camps or the Summer Honors Program appreciates the program Burke has guided for high ability learners from the schools in the ESU 11 area.
Burke’s educational career in south central Nebraska spans 36 years and began at Minden Public Schools where he was first hired as a classroom teacher. There he spent nine and a half years teaching Earth Science and coordinating Minden’s gifted learner program.
