Carson Blum Plays for Nebraska Select
Carson Blum of Minden played for the Nebraska Select 17 and under team basketball team.
Blum recently participated in the KC Prep Invitational/Metro Sports, an NCAA Certified Event July 28-31 in Shawnee, Kans.
In the first game of pool play, Nebraska Select defeated Kansas City Gametime 50-48 in overtime with Blum scoring 12 points to lead the way for the team.
In pool game two, NE Select picked up an 82-49 win over the Topeka Mustangs with Blum dropping in nine points.
In the third game of pool play, NE Select won a 53-37 decision over OSA/Crusaders National with Blum scoring a game-high 16 points.
After winning all three games the Select team moved into the championship bracket of the Gold Division.
In the semifinals, NE Select crushed Lee’s Summit Express 70-37. Blum kept up his scoring tear striking for a team-best 17 points in the win.
In the finals, NE Select edged Oklahoma City Wizards by a score of 66-64 to win the title. Blum scored 12 points to help Select the win the championship in front of over 250 college coaches in attendance with the team going a perfect 5-0.
Dale Blum of Minden and Mark Ritchie of Nebraska City were the coaches.
