Axtell rebounded from its tough loss to Loomis on Thursday by racking up the most points in a game in many years in subduing Hi-Line (Elwood/Eustis-Farnam) 93-77 at Elwood on January 31. The Cats entered FKC tourney action at 12-5.
Both teams scored well in every quarter, starting with the Cats’ 25-17 advantages in each of the first and second periods giving Axtell a 50-34 lead at halftime.
The Cats had a 23-22 edge in the third quarter putting the score at 73-56. In the fourth Hi-Line one-upped Axtell 21-20.
