The Axtell Wildcats football team has lost its second straight contest falling on homecoming night to the Ansley-Litchfield Spartans on Friday in Axtell by a score of 70-21.
Axtell (1-2) looks to rebound next Friday when they host the Arapahoe Warriors at 7 p.m.
A-L took an early lead over the Cats 16-7 after the first period. In the second, the Spartans would score three more times while Axtell could only match one touchdown to go into hafltime holding a 34-14 advantage.
In the third period, Ansley-Litchfield would pull away for good outscoring the Wildcats 22-7 to go into the fourth and final period holding a 56-21 lead. In the fourth, the Spartans closed out the game with a 14 point effort and went on for the 70-21 victory.
