The Axtell track and field teams were among the eight schools that participated in the Ravenna Track Meet on April 13 in great conditions. The boys finished second with 127 points, behind champion Centura (166) and just ahead of Doniphan-Trumbull (82).
The Lady Cats scored 100 for third place trailing Wood River (128) and Centura (112).
Braiden Gomez continues to sprint faster than his competition as he won the 100 and 200 and added a third gold in the 400. Other firsts for the Cats came from Creighton Kring in the long jump, Lane Bertrand in the high jump and the 4 X 400 relay crew. Seconds were earned by Jarrett Bertrand in the 800, Hunter Stratman in both the shot put and discus and the 4 X 800 relay quartet. A pair of thirds were taken by Lane Bertrand in the 400 and Tyler Danburg in the 800.
